Here we take a look at the 2022 GAC Aion Y Plus that uses a CALB NMC battery pack.
- Total energy = 76.8 kWh
- Nominal Voltage = 352.32 V
- Nominal Capacity = 218 Ah

The battery pack nameplate shows the manufacturer, nominal voltage, capacity and the weight of the pack.
- Peak Power = 167 kW10s
- Cell Configuration = 96s 1p
- Total Number Cells = 96
- Pack Mass = 430 kg
- Cell Mass = 323.52 kg
- Pack Mass – Cell Mass = 106.48 kg
- Cell to Pack Mass Ratio = 75%
- Enclosure Materials = Aluminium
- Gravimetric Energy Density = 178.6 Wh/kg
- Gravimetric Power Density = 387.6 W10s/kg

The skateboard appears to be a conservative design for an EV.
The battery frame is constructed from extruded aluminium. The image shows the modules arranged 3 across the width and in two rows. The distribution unit is housed in the front tapered section of the pack.

The structural connections to the vehicle are rather small and limited at the front of the battery pack.
Module

- Number of Modules = 6
- Cells/module = 16
Cell
- Cell Make = CALB
- Chemistry = NMC
- Format = Prismatic
- Nominal
- Capacity = 218 Ah
- Voltage = 3.67 V
- Energy = 800 Wh
- Cell Mass = 3.37 kg
- Cell Gravimetric Density = 237 Wh/kg
Overall the 2022 GAC Aion Y Plus is not a particularly standout design, but the overall package and cell to pack mass ratio of 75% is rather good.
