We have initial data for the 2026 BYD Short Blade 2.0 cell based on a shared [1] teardown of a 75.6kWh pack.

Specifications
- Total cell energy = 444.7 Wh
- 75.6 kWh / 170 cells
- Dimensions = 429 mm x 126 mm x 20 mm
- Volume = 1.081 litres
- Mass = 2.48 kg
- note: residual glue and busbars remain on cell from teardown
- Energy Density
- Gravimetric = 179.4 Wh/kg
- Volumetric = 411 Wh/litre
Charge Rate – supports a massive 8C peak charge rate. Under optimal conditions with the right charger, this rate allows the short blade battery to charge from 0% to 80% (and potentially reach a full charge) in just 10 minutes.
Discharge Rate – 16C peak discharge rate, which allows it to deliver extreme bursts of power to the vehicle’s drivetrain.
Safety and Mechanical Integrity – as with the rest of the Blade 2.0 family, it boasts extreme thermal and structural stability. The Short Blade 2.0 variant has been tested to withstand simultaneous puncture by eight steel needles and ballistic penetration by a bullet without catching fire.
As we find more data we will add to this post and to the Cell Database. We will also look out for more teardowns and data on applications of the BYD Blade 2.0 and how it compares to Blade 1.0
