High-concentration electrolytes offer enhanced safety, improved thermal stability, and a broader electrochemical stability window compared to standard mixtures. While traditional electrolytes rely on moderate salt levels, these advanced versions utilise super-concentrated salts to create unique solvation structures that protect electrodes.
There are a number of issues to solve:
- increased viscosity
- slower material wetting
- higher manufacturing costs.
