Key Cell Metrics

There are a number of key cell metrics that we expect to see on any cell specification sheet:

  • Wh/kg = gravimetric energy density
  • Wh/litre
  • W/kg
  • W/litre
  • $/kWh
  • Number of cycles at C/3 discharge and C/3 charge down to 80% SoH
  • Safety
  • Environmental impact assessment
  • Normalised Heat Rate [W/Ah]
  • Efficiency = discharge energy / charge energy – this is particularly important to grid storage applications
