Polyacrylic Acid

Polyacrylic Acid (PAA) is used as a binder for active materials. Particularly it has been applied to anodes with Silicon as it provides a strong flexible adhesive that can accommodate the high expansion. Its key functions are to provide strong adhesion between the active material particles and the current collector, maintain electrode structure, and enhance electrochemical performance by improving flexibility, conductivity, and the stability of the solid-electrolyte interphase.
