Needs review: this page is only a few sentences and has no references. It needs PVDF properties, typical binder loading, the NMP solvent and PTFE dry-process alternatives, and cited sources before it can be considered complete.
Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is used as a binder and a coating on separators. Widely used, especially for cathodes, known for its good mechanical, chemical, and electrochemical properties.
Traditional PVDF binders are not so effective with silicon anodes as they rely on weak van der Waals forces that easily snap when silicon expands. Next-generation binders solve this by providing much stronger mechanical links.
