EU
- Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 July 2023 concerning batteries and waste batteries, http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2023/1542/oj
USA
- Universal Waste Rule – created by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), this exists to promote the safe recycling and disposal of hazardous waste. It is effective in all 50 states without exception.
- Some states that have their own battery recycling regulations, which must be complied with above and beyond federal regulations.
