US Military Standards (MIL-STD)

US Military Standards (MIL-STD) are published by the US Department of Defense (DoD) to establish requirements for materials, components and systems used in military applications. These standards ensure interoperability, reliability and performance across defence programmes.

MIL-STD-810 is the primary environmental qualification standard for military equipment and is referenced by defence contractors for battery systems used in military aircraft, ground vehicles and portable equipment. Its test methods are sometimes adopted as a baseline for severe-environment qualification in civilian aerospace programmes.
