The 2013 BMW i3 had a battery based on the Samsung 60Ah prismatic cell and a simple pack assembly that integrated into the aluminium / carbon fibre body structure.

The BMW i3 battery pack has been upgraded from the 60Ah cell to the 94Ah cell and finally to the 120Ah cell.
This has all been done in the same package envelope.

BMW speaks for the i3 60 Ah Battery from 22.6 kWh (brutto). You wrote 21.312 kWh.
I look at the cell and work the capacity up from there, BMW state the pack is 60Ah
The maximum cell nominal voltage will be 3.7V and with 96 cells this gives 355.2V at pack level.
60Ah x 355.2V = 21,312Wh = 21.3kWh
If we take 22.6kWh and divide this through by 60Ah and 96 cells we arrive at a nominal cell voltage of 3.92V and that cannot be correct. The only other answer is that the cells deliver more than 60Ah and that this value is the minimum, but the pack size should be quoted as a minimum production value.
Bei der Markteinführung des BMW i3 im Jahr 2013 betrugen diese Werte 60 Ah und 22,6 kWh, die im Jahr 2016 eingeführte Batterie der zweiten Generation kommt auf 94 Ah und 33 kWh.
