However, when we step into even one element such as cell components we see another expansion of the value chain. In the world of batteries this is interesting when we are looking for the value, where are the “Levi’s” and “Pick Axe” sales of the gold rush?
Pick on one element, any element and start again thinking about what is needed.

Upon expanding this we see the main components, but these again expand in terms of value chain.
If we look at just the electrolyte we see that it has a number of key steps and elements for the safe handling, dispensing and optimum quantity.
All of this needs specialists, laboratories, research and companies to supply everything from the storage container to the delivery nozzle.
Any of these elements can be expanded, this is the beauty of the humble battery as it covers so many disciplines.
Although this is not complete or exhaustive the hope is that it shows a train of thought that could be used to look at opportunities, costs, life cycle or to just understand and develop your depth of knowledge.
