This is from a poster and shows the Gotion Universal Cell MEB+ battery pack. We have already looked at the 2026 VW Polo MEB+ LFP pack that delivers 37kWh using the universal cell format.
This pack has a total energy = 65.59 kWh and using the Usable SOC window of the smaller pack of 96% we would expect this to deliver >63 kWh in the larger vehicles in the ID family.
Note: at the moment we have not been able to verify the vehicle that this pack is used in or even if it is actually a pack and not just a collection of specifications.

Specifications
- Chemistry = LFP
- Nominal capacity = 91.5 Ah
- Nominal voltage = 358.4 V
- Voltage range ~ 280 to 425.6 V
- Total energy = 65.59 kWh
- Series and parallel configuration = 2P112S
- Volumetric cell to pack ratio ≥ 74%
- Thermal management = Liquid cooling
- Dimension = 1816 × 1441 × 140 mm
- Volume = 366 litres
- Cell
- Nominal voltage = 3.2 V
- Voltage range ~ 2.5 to 3.8 V
- Dimensions = 24.8 × 256 × 106 mm
- Volume = 0.673 litres
- Nominal voltage = 3.2 V
Using the raw dimensions of the battery pack and the cell, the volumetric cell to pack ratio ~ 41%. A very different result to that given by Gotion. Those dimensions will have been the overall maximum width and length, including the siderails of the pack and the front fixing rail. Assuming those rails are 40mm wide this would bring the total pack enclosure envelope down to approximately 340 litres, giving a packing efficiency of 44.3 %.
Pack Volume (without siderails) ~ (1816 – 2 x 40) x (1441 – 40) x 140 = 340.5 litres
Cell Volume = 0.673 x 2 x 112 = 150.75 litres
From this we can see that the quoted Volumetric cell to pack ratio is most likely using the internal package space of the pack.

Hi Nigel,
I think you’ve mixed up the specifications for two different MEB+ battery packs. In LFP technology, we have a standard (original 12 MEB 590 modules) pack with external dimensions including the siderails of 1816 x 1447 x 140 mm. On one occasion, I walked past this pack with a tape measure, so the external dimensions without the siderails are ca 1690 x 1300 x 140 mm (308 litres) and with siderails it is ca 324 litres. The key point is that this pack can only accommodate 2p104 cells, with total energy of about 61 kWh. check here: https://fdrive.cz/galerie/skoda-auto-nova-baterkarna-mb-105876/clanek-16207
But there is a larger pack (original 13 MEB 590 modules) which fit only in ID.7 or Škoda Peaq and its external dimensions, including the siderails, are 1941 x 1447 x 140 mm (346 litres) and ca 1815 x 1300 x 140 mm (330 litres) without them. And only this pack can accommodate the advertised 2p112s cells.
Please keep doing your amazing work, Pajda
Hello Padja,
Thanks for the response, I was basing my numbers on this poster from Gotion.

Wonder if this poster is a mix of data? Best regards, Nigel
What I know for sure is that an LFP pack with Gotion cells with external dimensions of 1816 x 1447 x 140 mm currently being manufactured in Mladá Boleslav, CZE features a 2p104s configuration and is rated as 58/61 kWh. The second thing which I am sure about is that a VCTP of 74% is just not possible in this pack. Your estimate is actually pretty accurate, my estimate came out to about 43% VCTP.
Other is my speculation as looking inside, I don’t think there’s room for 4 more 25mm wide cells. But there’s definitely room for that in the longer version of the pack. However, I have no information indicating that this configuration is being manufactured. We may learn more on June 23, when the Škoda Peaq is set to be officially unveiled; technical specifications are usually released at that time as well.
