The VW MEB+ platform was first talked about back in 2023 [1]. Key changes to the battery are:
- LFP chemistry for the entry level vehicles
- Targeted 50% lower battery pack costs
This builds on the original VW MEB platform.
We will come in with MEB Plus across the models, including ID 3, ID 4, ID 7. They will have LFP.

At the moment the details are limited and we will gradually build posts around the different pack sizes as we get more information.
Three immediate things we see from the above pack for the ID2 is that it is flat, rectangular and has the cooling plate on the top of the pack.
