2026 Renault Megane E-Tech

2026 Renault Megane E-Tech LFP battery pack with LG Energy Solutions pouch cells and a Cell to Pack design. However, we immediately feel that this isn’t the best battery package when we see Renault’s own description:

Thanks to the larger battery, the new Megane E-Tech Electric is slightly taller (20 mm) than before and also appears wider at the front.

This model is using the RG medium 1.0 platform (formerly known as AmpR Medium).

Specifications

  • Usable energy = 67 kWh
  • Chemistry = LFP
  • Cell format = pouch
  • Number of cells = 232
  • Cell to Pack Design
    • 53% packing efficiency

Based on this being a 400V architecture and LFP chemistry:

  • Cell configuration => 116s 2p
  • Nominal pack voltage = 371.2 V

Ampere quote [4] a 20% cost reduction with LFP and the cell to pack integration.

Given all of this, the overall pack design doesn’t look cutting edge or particularly optimised.

The frame enclosure appears to be costly based on the stepped design that has more parts than really required, a fabricated assembly with lots of welded on fixings, overly complicated lid in two parts (although we need to see the final part as this has been modified for display purposes).

Charging

  • DC Fast Charging: The peak DC rapid charging power has been increased to 165 kW (a 30-35 kW improvement over the previous model). This enables a rapid charge from 15% to 80% in approximately 24 minutes.
  • AC Charging: For slower charging, an 11 kW AC charger is standard, with a 22 kW AC charging upgrade available as an option.
  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): Using a specialized adapter, the car can supply external power to 220V devices up to 3,700W.
  • Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G): Depending on the market, the system supports bi-directional charging to feed electricity back into the grid, helping owners manage and reduce home electricity costs.
